Pia Bella Hotel (Kyrenia)

Unlike the huge resorts that parcel out Kyrenia's coastline, the four-star “Pia Bella Hotel” sits right in the heart of the town and operates on a more compact scale of 144 rooms... It balances the operational drawback of having no private beach by handing sea access over to a regular shuttle service and bringing the energy of Kyrenia's bazaar straight to the guest's door.

One technical snag that stands out when researching the hotel on digital channels also needs a mention. Located at İskenderun Caddesi number 14, this property can appear on some platforms as a second listing under the name "Piabella Prestige Hotel Casino", owing to structural inconsistencies on the search engine optimisation and local business (LocalBusiness) records side, and you need to watch out for this… There are not two different properties - in the cases we looked at, the sole reason for this situation, which leads to the same door, is the naming difference in the digital shop window…

To avoid this kind of listing confusion, when placing alternatives side by side the right approach is always to pin down concrete metrics such as room capacity, board concept and beach logistics rather than getting caught up in digital labels.

Town Centre or Coastal Strip

A guest stepping out of the hotel door walks to the historic harbour in ten minutes, while Kyrenia Castle is roughly 1.1 kilometres away. From a property on the coastal strip you would cover the same route by taxi, and the real difference shows when heading out for dinner. On the airport side the scale naturally changes: the distance to Ercan Airport hovers in the 24 to 26 kilometre band and varies by a few kilometres depending on the route taken. The Mersin 10, Türkiye wording that appears in address correspondence does not count as a separate address line; it is a standard part of postal practice in North Cyprus. This is the most tangible payoff of staying at a city hotel: returning to the room in the middle of the day is a decision within walking distance.

Between 16 and 60 Square Metres

There is one detail I always stress when analysing accommodation experiences: square metres determine not only a room's physical size but also the general comfort limits of the holiday. When we assess Pia Bella's 16-square-metre standard rooms, finding floor space to leave two suitcases open at the same time is hardly possible, so this tightness must be factored in when planning travel logistics.

Moving up a segment, the Superior and Deluxe rooms offer a quite satisfying living space for guests travelling as a couple. The top-tier Ensuite type contains two separate bedrooms, one of them with a sofa bed. When a larger group is involved, say a family of five, there is no flexible alternative in between: either two separate standard rooms are booked or you go straight up to the suite category. While space transitions at resort hotels in the same star class usually progress more gradually, here we see a sharp jump in square metres, straight from 16 to 20 and then to 30.

The second critical detail that affects usable space as much as square metres is the property's architectural character. Rather than rising as a single massive block, Pia Bella has a complex layout made up of multiple blocks scattered across a large garden. While this architectural choice creates an airy setting close to nature, it makes your walking distance to reception or the pool area variable depending on which block your room is in.

For guests used to single-building, compact properties, this can mean extra walking with luggage in hand, especially on check-in and check-out days. As a matter of industry experience, there is a practical solution that always works at multi-block properties of this kind: adding a request for a "block close to the pool" in the notes section when booking will considerably lighten the back-and-forth during the day and make your holiday routine flow much more smoothly.

Kervansaray Shuttle or the Hotel's Own Beach

At a property with its own beach, the sea is a matter of taking the lift; here it is tied to a partner beach, and in the morning the shuttle vehicle waits outside the door. The free shuttle to “Kervansaray Public Beach” has run twice a day since 15 May 2026, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Sunbeds and umbrellas are free of charge, and no separate payment is asked for at the beach. Shuttle times shift with the season, so confirmation is taken from reception the day before going. Guests who miss it find their own way to the beach.

For guests who do not go down to the sea there are two outdoor pools in the garden, a swim-up bar operates at the edge of one of them, and a separate children's section sits in the same area. There is a kids' club, but the hotel does not state its age range or hours; a baby cot is provided on request. What really shapes the day for a family with small children is the children's section at the pool, because it is not limited by the clock.

For the hours outside the pool, the hotel's indoor areas come into play. In the “Bella Thai Spa” section, full-body, localised and aromatherapy massages and herbal treatments are offered for a fee, and the promotional material also mentions a small fitness area. Weddings and private events are also held in the multi-purpose halls; a guest planning a large event would do well to see the hall before booking.

Half Board Versus All-Inclusive

Kyrenia's big resorts mostly sell by the wristband; this property, by contrast, works on bed and breakfast and half board. Since lunch and drinks fall outside the package, the midday bill comes separately, and a real difference arises for the guest who wants to close out the holiday budget at the property. In the main restaurant breakfast opens at half past seven in the morning and closes towards ten, lunch service is given between noon and mid-afternoon, and dinner is open from seven to nine.

The dining arrangement is simple: there is an open-air terrace restaurant, an indoor hall and an à la carte that works by reservation. The terrace is the place for summer evenings; the indoor hall comes into play in winter and on windy days. The à la carte stays open from noon until late at night, and at peak hours finding a table without a reservation becomes difficult. While waiting for a table the drinks side is already open: the pool bar, garden bar and lobby bar operate all day. Half board does not create a constraint here. There is already a bazaar right outside the door.

The Casino Question Changes by Source

In Kyrenia a casino is a familiar section operating through a separate door beneath the hotel sign, but in the case of Pia Bella Hotel this heading changes depending on the source. While the hotel's own website mentions a casino, some of the large agency pages selling bed and breakfast and half board do not touch on the subject at all. For the guest deciding at the desk the practical outcome is a single one: whether the hall is operating is confirmed with one question at reception. If the hall is open, the rule that applies at every casino in North Cyprus works here too: guests under 25 and residents of North Cyprus are not admitted to the casino. ID is requested, with no exceptions.

Looking Beyond the Price in August-September 2026

When looking at Pia Bella's 2026 season prices, it is perfectly normal not to see a clear figure; especially in the current “October” period, we can say that prices fluctuate constantly according to occupancy... A small piece of old advice: when comparing two offers, focus not just on the price but on the board type next to it, because the difference between "Bed and breakfast" and "Half board" is, I would say, exactly the dinner bill that will come out of your pocket in Kyrenia's bazaar in the evening.

The seasonal advantage is big. Even when the pools close in winter, Kyrenia harbour and the bazaar always remain within walking distance. But when it comes to the sea, expectations must be managed correctly: if you want to step out of your room straight onto the sand, this place is not for you. But if you will not mind going to the sea by the hotel's shuttle, this 144-room property in the centre will more than do the job.
