But the small city hotels running on bed-and-breakfast, the places with "pansiyon" (guesthouse) in their name and the island's three hostels stay behind that shop window, because the filter that builds the agency display unfortunately doesn't count them. The figures discussed here are for September 2026 and are the nightly starting rate for a double room. Since most hotels keep their tariffs in foreign currency, the TL equivalent drifts with the exchange rate. The per-person package price agencies quote is a different scale altogether, so putting the two side by side makes a cheap hotel look expensive. Where does the nightly band start? Where the budget end begins in Kyrenia depends on which site you look at. The Names in Central Kyrenia
At the bottom end of the cheap-hotels band in Cyprus sits the "Dome Hotel": three and a half stars, around the harbour, right on the water, in a building approaching ninety years old. "Hotel Pia Bella" holds the same card: the property on İskenderun Street is a ten-minute walk from the castle and the harbour. The upper limit of the band is marked by the Riverside Garden Resort, where two people for two nights opens from six thousand TL. How Big Is the Winter Discount in Famagusta

Miray Guest House appears under a "Kyrenia" heading, yet its address is over on the Long Beach side, in Iskele; from central Kyrenia you can only get there by car. That's why you should verify the location label against a second source.
Three Hostels, and Aparts Are for Students
Booking.com's hostel filter turns up three properties across North Cyprus, two of them in Kyrenia. Best Kyrenia Hostel is 1.9 kilometres from the castle and listed with a score of nine out of ten; Sun Rays Hostel follows at 8.4. Count the third and you've exhausted the island's entire backpacker scene. When the beds run out, aparts come to mind — but can a tourist find an apart in Famagusta? The listing sites are full, yet the market is built for EMU students; contracts run by academic year or twelve months, so no listing offers daily tourist rentals. Kyrenia has individual Airbnb listings, though there's no current data on the total number. Daily rentals also appear on villa and apartment sites, but without price confirmation no band can be given. The winter schedules of the area's other small and mid-scale hotels can't be known without asking the property. Cross into the Karpaz Peninsula and the scale drops once more. In Dipkarpaz, Oasis at Ayfilon has ten rooms, next to the church of Ayios Philon; Karpaz Arch Houses opened in 2002 with the restoration of five stone houses and today has twelve units. There are no high-rise hotels on the peninsula — accommodation clearly rests on stone houses and guesthouses. That said, no nightly band is verified for either area.
What to Ask the Hotel Before Booking
For a stay falling in winter, the first question should be what heats the room — air conditioning or a stove?
