You clicked the agency’s “adults-only hotel” filter, and most of the hotels that came up run a kids’ club. You did not click the wrong thing: the category marketed as “adults-only hotels in Cyprus” and a property’s own child policy are not the same thing. This page picks out the four properties among the island’s 169 that do not accept children, and shows the rule line for each of those four. Eighty of that pool are concentrated in Kyrenia, and the threshold at those four sits between 12 and 14. While dozens of resorts in Antalya print 16 or 18 at the entrance, not a single property on the island uses either of those figures. So the decision is made not in the agency category but in the rule line of those four properties.
Who does the “Adults-Only Hotels” category actually list? On the page “Etstur” has set up for North Cyprus, eight hotels are lined up, seven of them Elexus, Acapulco, Cratos, Salamis Bay Conti, Nuh’un Gemisi, Limak Cyprus Deluxe and Concorde Luxury. Not a single age figure appears in the page text, because the category is a marketing heading that sits intertwined with the “honeymoon hotels” and “hotels with live performers” tags. More interesting still: all seven of those hotels run a kids’ club, and their packages list child discounts. In other words, what the label stands for is not an age rule but the promise of a quiet atmosphere.
“Tatilsepeti”, in its category of the same name, has placed only Merit Royal and Merit Royal Diamond, and those two names genuinely do not take children. When one site shows eight hotels and the other two, what should you look at? Not the name of the list but the property’s own child policy; in a search for an adults-only hotel in Cyprus, that is the deciding line. The same criterion also rules out the rest of the list: on the Kaya Palazzo, Salamis Bay Conti, Concorde, Limak, Nuh’un Gemisi and Acapulco side, no adults-only pool or wing has been published; it would not be right to make such a claim for those six properties.
The Four Properties That Do Not Accept Children
“Bellapais Monastery Village” sits inside the mountain village and has no casino. Of its 62 units, 45 are bungalows, 15 classic rooms and two suites; one of its three pools is indoor. The child rule is as clear as that room list: guests under 12 are not accepted.
“Merit Royal Hotel” is in Alsancak and, although the name is similar, it is separate from Merit Royal Premium. The distinction does not stop at the name: according to a reply hotel management gave to a guest review, children under 14 are not admitted to the Royal. The same reply also says the Premium side does host under-14s. Since the information comes from that statement rather than from the hotel’s website, it is worth confirming by phone before booking.
Merit Royal Diamond stands on the same road, at Zephyros Bay. It is a 273-room, ultra all-inclusive property that opened in 2022. The threshold here is also 14, but the rule does not stay on paper: one guest review describes a family wanting to seat a small child at a restaurant table being warned by staff.
“Bellapais Gardens” is in the same village, at Crusader Road. Set on the hillside, it operates two-storey villa-type units reached by stairs, and it does not take children. That much is certain; what is unclear is whether the threshold is 12 or 14. Since the hotel does not publish it, the exact figure can only be learned by asking the property.
Four Merits on the Same Road
The Merit name in Alsancak covers four separate properties: Merit Royal, Merit Royal Premium, Merit Royal Diamond and “Merit Crystal Cove”. Of these, Royal and Diamond do not take children, while Premium accepts under-14s. Crystal Cove is a 287-room family hotel and, what is more, North Cyprus’s first ultra all-inclusive property. So among the same group’s side-by-side hotels, one hosts families with children and another hosts child-free couples. That is why the booking should be made with the property’s full name; writing only “Merit” on a list of adults-only hotels in Cyprus leaves open the chance of ending up at the Premium.
The Stone Houses of the Karpaz Take Children
A couple looking for a quiet place and a couple looking for a child-free hotel are not looking for the same thing, and the Karpaz Peninsula, it is fair to say, caters only to the first. “Oasis at Ayfilon” in Dipkarpaz has 10 rooms and accepts children of every age; sea-view double rooms can take at most one child and triple rooms at most two, though bear in mind that the terrain is steep. Because of the cliff edges and the sharp rock pools it is not much recommended for families with toddlers, but that is a safety warning, not an age limit. The 12 arched units of Karpaz Arch Houses likewise host families with children. In Lapta the coast is quiet too, yet there is no hotel marketed as romantic or adults-only. In short, quiet is found in the Karpaz Peninsula and in Lapta, while the child-free room is in Bellapais and Alsancak.
The Age-25 Rule Ends at the Gaming Floor
The Games of Chance Law No. 31/2009, together with its 2025 amendment, makes entry to the casino floor conditional on having turned 25. The rule ends at the door of the gaming floor and does not extend in any way to the rest of the hotel. So does a hotel with a casino take children? It does, and from infancy. At “Cratos Premium”, the Cratoys Mini Club is open for ages 4-7 from 08.30 to 23.30. At the same property a paid babysitter can be hired for ages 0-4, and during the campaign period two children aged 0-12 stay free. Even though the spa is reserved for ages 12 and over, the indoor pool and the hammam are open to under-12s accompanied by a parent.
Elexus also has a parent-accompanied mini club for ages 0-4, and on top of that it runs a separate children’s beach under the name Elexus Kids Beach. So two large properties operate both the age-25 rule and a kids’ club on the same day; one is no obstacle to the other. The only place where the two rules overlap is Merit Royal and Merit Royal Diamond; there the age-25 condition for the gaming floor and the age-14 condition for the hotel as a whole apply together.

Nightly Rates and Villa Rental
At Merit Royal Diamond, summer nightly rates start from 29-30 thousand TL as of August 2026. So how far is that from the casino-resort band? Given that in the per-room bands dated June 2026 the casino-resorts in Kyrenia open from 25 thousand TL and the five-star hotels in Bafra from 18-26 thousand TL, the child-free concept sits a little above the standard floor; it does not soar. For the two Bellapais properties the same calculation cannot be made, because current TL prices have not been published; you need to write to the hotel for a figure.
For a couple who would rather stay outside a hotel, the supply of villas and houses around Kyrenia is wide. On rental sites, options with a pool or a sea view can come up in the 250-900 dollar per night range, the figure varying by season and location. Stone-house rentals near the harbour such as Ottoman House & Garden are also part of this supply. That said, the people who actually use these houses are foreign retirees renting long-term along the Alsancak-Lapta strip; a couple’s one-week villa is a small slice of the market. There is no separate “honeymoon villa” category anyway. A couple staying in Bellapais also has the monastery festival to hand: the 2026 programme ran from 18 May to 23 June, all nine concerts at eight in the evening and, of course, free of charge. When choosing an adults-only hotel in Cyprus, Bellapais’s two properties are close enough to walk to that monastery.
