Here is how things work: because the hotel does not describe itself as merely a beach hotel, what you are buying is less the room itself than which sections are operating that week. Because the upper tier is this narrow, we recommend that guests looking for a suite act early; couples or small families, on the other hand, will find plenty of choice. The Beach Runs a Hundred Metres

Walk 30 metres from the hotel building and you step straight onto the property's own 100-metre beach. Although the sand is slightly pebbly in places, the water is always flat as a sheet thanks to the breakwater. If you do not want to deal with sand, jumping straight into deep water from the pier is the most practical way. Sun loungers and umbrellas are free, and in summer the beach bar is lively and fun too. On the pool side there are outdoor, children's and heated indoor pool options. Especially in the spring months, when the sea has not yet warmed up, that heated pool really saves the day. In the spa on the lower floor, the hammam, sauna and steam room are ready, but special treatments such as massage are subject to an extra charge. Since the spa section can go into renovation from time to time, if that is your priority you must confirm the latest status with the hotel before you go.

How Late Is the Bar Open?

The main restaurant works on an open buffet basis, and three meals are spread between 07.00 and 21.30; these three meals also form the core of the package. Mirror, the only à la carte address for the evening, works by reservation and serves European cuisine, and there is also a snack point left for anyone wanting a bite during the day. Because Murphy's Irish Bar in the lobby is open twenty-four hours a day, it is where a Vuni Palace Hotel guest wanting a drink at two in the morning will go. Only the time difference touches the bill, because the all-inclusive package covers local drinks between 10.00 and midnight, and anything after that hour is paid separately. A bar that is open twenty-four hours and the hour the package ends are definitely not the same thing; the guest who confuses the two learns the difference at the end of the first night.

The Garden and the Hall Run Separately

The kids' club age band is four to twelve, and the playroom has board games, computer games and film screenings. Outside, an animation team, mini golf, darts, table tennis and a giant chessboard await, while in a small funfair a carousel and a train go round, and families who want a babysitter can get this service for a fee. The casino section under the same roof has gaming tables and slot machines, and two limits apply at the entrance: guests under 25 and residents of North Cyprus are not admitted to the casino. This dual structure also sums up the hotel's character: while the funfair turns in the garden by day, in the evening a hall with a separate entrance operates at the other end of the same property.
