Of the 21 properties in Etstur's honeymoon category, 14 are in Kyrenia (Girne); of Tatilsepeti's 28 hotels, 20 are in Kyrenia too. Bafra ranks second on both lists, with Famagusta (Gazimağusa) and Iskele trailing behind. For a couple looking for a honeymoon hotel in Cyprus, the problem isn't a lack of options — it's that the two wings of the same town work completely differently: in Çatalköy the evening traffic flows toward the casinos, while in Alsancak the seafront stays quiet.
Honeymoon by Area: From Çatalköy to the Karpaz Peninsula
Kyrenia's eastern wing, Çatalköy, lines up Elexus, Cratos and Acapulco. All three have casinos, run in separate sections, while the rest of each property operates as an ordinary resort. To the west, the Merit group in Alsancak and Kaya Palazzo in Karaoğlanoğlu are tied to the same town centre and are calmer in the evenings; for sunsets, the "Kayalar-Horseshoe" stretch is on this side. Where should a couple look if they want to leave casinos out entirely? The mountain village of Bellapais, just above Kyrenia, answers with two properties. Bellapais Monastery Village has 62 rooms — 15 hotel rooms and 45 bungalows — two outdoor pools and one indoor, no casino, and doesn't accept children under 12. It's the only property in the TRNC (North Cyprus) we could confirm as child-free. Bellapais Gardens, with 17 bungalows on Crusader Road, is casino-free as well.
In Bafra, the holiday unfolds within the resort grounds. Concorde, Kaya Artemis and the 598-room Limak operate all-inclusive. The 65-72 kilometre drive from Ercan is covered by the transfer in the agency package. Limak is open only between 19 March and 31 October 2026, so it's out of the picture for a winter honeymoon. No property on the Karpaz Peninsula advertises a honeymoon package; the 10-room Oasis at Ayfilon and Karpaz Arch Houses stay at stone-house scale, 2 hours 20 minutes from Kyrenia and not reachable without a car.
The Standard Items of a Honeymoon Package
At the big resorts, the honeymoon package is free at the standard tier, included in the room rate. The skeleton is the same almost everywhere: room decoration, wine or champagne, a fruit basket, breakfast in the room on the first morning, and discounts at the spa and a la carte restaurants. What varies is the minimum stay and the date on the marriage certificate. Most properties ask for 3 nights. The certificate condition ranges from "1 month" to "6 months" after the wedding depending on the property, which is why a couple travelling months after the ceremony can lose the package. Bring the certificate with you and ask about the time limit when booking. Merit and Cratos advertise a honeymoon concept and both have packages; we couldn't verify the contents from their official pages, so ask the property for details. Within Cyprus honeymoon packages, the only ones that cost money are the top two tiers at Concorde.

A Five-Night Route Suggestion
The skeleton: three nights in Kyrenia, two nights in "Bafra" or "Karpaz". Kyrenia is 43-44 kilometres from Ercan; the transfer takes 40-50 minutes. Fish at the Old Harbour on the first evening: with two starters, two mains and local drinks, the bill runs 30-50 pounds sterling, roughly 1,000-1,700 TL per person — ask the per-gram fish price before ordering. On day two, Bellapais Abbey, 10-15 minutes from Kyrenia. The building sits on the southeastern slope overlooking the bay, and the cafe under the Tree of Idleness is familiar from Durrell's book. In the afternoon, a 10-kilometre mountain road climbs to St. Hilarion Castle.
Day three is a shared boat tour: departure 10.00-10.30, return 16.30, meze and grill included, around 40-50 euros per person, season May-October; since operators haven't published written 2026 tariffs, the safest bet is checking the boards at the harbour a day before. Sunset cruises and private yachts are negotiated. For couples travelling in late July-August, the evening option is Alagadi: the beach is closed to visits at night, and the emergence of sea turtle hatchlings (Caretta caretta and Chelonia mydas) can only be watched as part of SPOT's registered programme. Day four is the move to Bafra, with the ancient city of Salamis on the way. From Bafra, Kantara Castle is 30-40 minutes via Iskele. The castle stands at 700 metres on the eastern tip of the Five Finger Mountains; its first written record dates back to 1191, with the Karpaz Peninsula visible on one side and the Mesaoria Plain on the other. Can the Karpaz be done as a day trip? It's over two hours one way from Kyrenia, so the peninsula only fits the route as the final two nights: the stretch between Golden Beach (Altınkum) and Apostolos Andreas, with wild donkeys along the road. Don't feed the donkeys. Past Dipkarpaz, the last section of road is unpaved in places; keep the tank full and carry cash too. The peninsula in detail is in our Karpaz guide.
Two Stops Worth Adding to the Route
A May-June honeymoon coincides with the Bellapais Music Festival. The festival traditionally falls in these two months; the 2026 programme runs nine concerts between 18 May and 23 June, all at 20.00 inside the abbey, with free admission. A half day in Nicosia (Lefkoşa), meanwhile, is best planned around the hammam. The Büyük Hamam has been operating since 1571, inside the Venetian walls at 9 İrfan Bey Street, open daily 09.00-22.00 and welcoming couples. The 50-minute package starts at 40 euros, the 70-minute Sultan is 80 euros — 2026 prices. Weekends fill up, so book ahead via WhatsApp.
Choosing the Month and a Five-Night Budget
Four separate sources recommend the same months for a honeymoon: May, June, September, October. July-August is hot and crowded; in October the sea is still 24-26 degrees. September's only snag is airfare. The one-way Istanbul-Ercan monthly average hits 4,599 TL in September — the year's peak in enuygun's August 2026 data. A couple's round trip within September exceeds 18,000 TL at the monthly average. Shifting to October, or locking in tickets months ahead, shrinks this line item. On the hotel side, the early-booking window opens at the end of October and runs until early June.
What do five nights cost? A Cyprus honeymoon budget has two separate baselines, and they don't add together. On a per-room basis, summer nightly rates at a 5-star resort in Kyrenia or Bafra start in the 18,000-26,000 TL band — five nights of room come to 90,000-130,000 TL, flights excluded. The agency baseline works per person in a double room: Tatilbudur's 4-day 3-night tour departing September-December 2026 is 26,760 TL from Adana and 28,560 TL from Istanbul; 5 days 4 nights all-inclusive from 37,680 TL. At that scale, five nights for two starts at roughly 90,000-100,000 TL. The figures are starting prices taken from agency pages as of late August 2026 and move with the exchange rate. Winter rates are lower, but Limak is closed — and so are the beaches at the seaside resorts. We break down the segment ranges in our hotel prices article. Document Check Before You Set Off
No passport needed — a couple entering with a chipped Turkish ID card is also exempt from the 1,250 TL exit fee, and the document the hotel asks for at check-in is the marriage certificate. The certificate time limits for Cyprus honeymoon packages are in the table, 1 to 6 months depending on the property. In the TRNC (North Cyprus), civil marriage is tied to a residency requirement at the municipalities, so a tourist couple cannot marry on the spot. If the spouse who changed her surname hasn't renewed her ID yet, buy the ticket under the old surname. Airlines match the name on the ticket to the ID exactly — the rule isn't specific to the TRNC, it applies on every flight.
