Lord's Palace Hotel & Casino (Kyrenia, Karakum)
📍 Dr. Fazıl Küçük Caddesi No:38, Karakum, Kyrenia
When Kyrenia's big casino hotels are marked on a map, they all line up on either side of the town, along stretches of coast reached only by car. "Lord's Palace Hotel & Casino in Karakum" sits outside the pattern we described earlier, because it stands at the head of its own sandy beach in a neighbourhood from which both the castle and the harbour are a walk away… With 250 rooms, a casino and a two-tier pool, its scale is the scale of the resorts to the west… In Kyrenia the road to a casino hotel usually begins with a taxi or a hire car; in Karakum it ends on foot. In this piece, where we go through the details with you, we looked at four questions one by one: what the location brings, what the package covers, what kind of place it is for a family, and whether the door is open in winter.
The Harbour's East Side, Karakum
Karakum is a neighbourhood immediately east of Kyrenia harbour, close enough to count as adjoining the centre, so the evening programme sorts itself out here. Walking out of the hotel to the castle gate or the harbour cafés is an ordinary thing to do, and there is no waiting for a taxi on the way back. Eating out and walking back to the room is a comfort that most hotels in Kyrenia's resort belt do not have. For guests arriving from further afield, the Ercan Airport transfer takes between forty and fifty minutes, and the driving is on the left the whole way. The hotel also runs a paid, timetabled town shuttle, though within walking distance there is little point tying yourself to a departure time. A hotel's address is often more decisive than its architecture, and here what decides things is precisely the address.

For Those Wondering About the Room Count: 250 Rooms, Views in Three Directions
The room count is 250, and the 500 beds on the Tourism Planning Department's list dated June 2026 confirm the figure. Rooms face the mountain, the town or the sea, so the question of the view here becomes one of aspect rather than category. The standard room is sold with a double or twin bed and the sea-facing side can be chosen at this level too; above it come Suite and Deluxe, and at the very top The Lord & Lady Suite. Some agency listings also show a connecting suite, and that is usually the first room suggested to a large family. Whatever the category, daily tea and coffee service and two complimentary bottles of water are standard. The fact that the view depends on the booking note rather than the room category is a small detail that works in the guest's favour, so we recommend having the aspect you want written down in a single sentence.
Sandy Beach, Pier and Two-Tier Pool
The beach belongs to the hotel and a pier for entering the sea extends from one end of it. Because the two sit side by side there are two ways into the water: wading in from the shallows or straight off the pier. While several of the big resorts on Kyrenia's western line reach the water by platform from a rocky shore, here your feet land directly on sand, and for a family with small children that difference between sand and platform shapes a whole day. On the same sand, a beach club called "Esquire Beach" operates with water sports equipment from nine in the morning to six in the evening, so the daytime programme is set without leaving the hotel's gate.
On the pool side there is a large two-tier main pool, a separate children's pool and a seasonally heated indoor pool. The 2016 opening news also mentioned a pool on the roof terrace, so the total count varies depending on the source. When winter comes the outdoor pool and the beach club stop, while the heated indoor pool keeps running, so the hotel stays open twelve months and only the outdoor areas close.
What Does Full Board Plus Give You?
The hotel's concept is called "Full Board Plus" and the major agencies list the package under that name; the definition stays the same everywhere. Breakfast, lunch and dinner and certain drinks are included in the package. By contrast, an all-day snack buffet or a list of imported spirits is not part of this package, which is why guests arriving expecting ultra all-inclusive get a surprise at the door. Having lunch in the package too makes the day easier, because the meal is sorted without leaving the beach and the day is not split in two. However, since the drinks list can shift depending on the campaign, it is worth asking what is included at the time of booking, as a guest who goes down to Bella Marin in the evening may pay a separate bill there. It is not the name of a package but the line beneath that name that determines the budget.
Evenings at Bella Marin
The evening programme gathers in the Bella Marin complex, and this is not a single restaurant but several separate venues standing side by side. "Khephal Yeni Nesil Balık" works with seafood, opening at six in the evening and serving until midnight, with live music on Friday and Saturday evenings. In the same hours Kömür Steak & Ocakbaşı holds the meat side, so a table that does not want fish is sorted without leaving the complex. Mystique Sisha Lounge is a shisha terrace overlooking the Mediterranean and stays open from nine in the morning until midnight, while Aurora Bar is a daytime bar that operates only in the summer season. Late at night it is Odyssey Night Club's turn. Since the open-buffet main restaurant included in the package runs separately from this whole complex, spending the evening at the hotel and spending it at Bella Marin do not come to the same bill, so bear that in mind. The casino operates in a separate section under the same roof, and guests under 25 and residents of North Cyprus are not admitted to this section. We should also note that the spa centre has a sauna and a steam room.
"Kids Planet" and the "Slide Pool" for Children
Kids Planet serves the 0-12 age group free of charge from half past eight in the morning until half past eleven at night; since its name appears on the hotel's Bella Marin list, the club is also part of that complex. Beside it there is a separate outdoor children's pool, and the sun loungers are provided free as well. In summer an outdoor children's pool with slides is added to this, the pool bar opens along with it, and when winter comes that set-up is taken down. What use is a children's club staying open until eleven at night? For parents lingering over dinner downstairs it means two hours of ease, and here it is that hour rather than the age band that does the work.
TripAdvisor - 4.7 Rating and Variable Prices
The hotel carries a 4.7 rating on TripAdvisor with more than 3,800 reviews, which is in fact a relatively good ratio. For Lord's Palace Hotel, as of August-September 2026 the nightly starting rate on the major booking sites is given in dollars, so the TL equivalent is set by the day's exchange rate. Since the figure changes with the date, room type and occupancy, what should be compared is not the bare price but the room type and package name next to it. Lord's Palace Hotel is a hotel open summer and winter, but what you buy in summer is sand and pool, while what you buy in winter is an address within walking distance of the centre. Both are valid holidays, as long as you come knowing which one you have bought.
