Elexus Hotel & Casino (Kyrenia, Çatalköy)

Twelve kilometres east of Kyrenia town centre, on the seaward side of the road, a multi-block complex appears that runs right down to the shore. This is Elexus Hotel: a beach resort on Uluçay Sokak in Çatalköy, operating with 822 rooms. In the Tourism Planning Department's five-star list dated 16 June 2026 it is recorded, with 1,734 beds, as the largest of twenty-five properties, so there is no bigger hotel in North Cyprus. In our research as a team we looked at five questions one by one for you: how the room types are divided, how wide the beach is, what there is for children, who the casino admits, and whether the doors stay open in winter.

On Kyrenia's Eastern Flank

Kyrenia's beach hotels are spread across two flanks. To the west lies the Alsancak-Lapta line, where the pace stays lower; the eastern flank, Çatalköy, is where the casino and event traffic gathers. The resort operates right in the middle of this activity, since its neighbours Acapulco and Cratos line the same stretch of coast. Getting into town requires a car; twelve kilometres is not a walking distance. In return there is a small advantage on the airport side: on the way to Ercan Airport you drive a few kilometres less than from the hotels on Kyrenia's western flank. The grounds exceed two hundred and seventy thousand square metres, and walking from the beach to your room genuinely takes time here. This size is not a promise of comfort but a trade-off to accept from the outset.

From Standard Room to Royal Elexus Suite

On Elexus Hotel's own website the 822 rooms are grouped under ten separate concepts. At the entry level are the Standard and Deluxe rooms; the corner-positioned Corner Deluxe and Corner Suite sit one step above them. The Family Room has two bedrooms, and splitting the space in two means, in practice, a separate door for the child. The remaining types differ from one another in view and fittings. The Luxury Suite is furnished with a Mediterranean theme, the Executive Suite adds a jacuzzi and a panoramic sea view, and the Premium Suite, with a living room and more than one bedroom, is planned for a larger group. The Presidential Suite's balconies face the sea, and at the very top stands the Royal Elexus Suite. In practice the choice still simplifies: a family with children settles on the two-bedroom Family Room, while a couple goes back and forth between the Superior Suite and the jacuzzi-equipped Executive Suite. The long list of suites may look like many options, but the real distinction comes down to a single question: how many doors do you want?

650 Metres of Sand, Plus an Aquapark

The sand is fine and the beach belongs to the hotel; since the resort's private shoreline stretches for 650 metres, it counts as generously wide by the standards of beachfront hotels. On the sand stand private pavilions for four or six people, so a large family can book a pavilion for the day and be spared chasing sunbeds in the morning. On the pool side there is more than one outdoor pool, an indoor pool and a children's pool; the little one dawdles in the shallow water while the older one runs for the slide. On the slide side, however, there is a gap: although an aquapark exists, the hotel does not announce the number of slides, and its website does not even have a page devoted to the park. For a family choosing a hotel by the size of the park, the only information available is that the park exists. We would also suggest putting the aquapark at the edge of your decision rather than at its centre.

From Reflection to Bistro 24

The main restaurant, "Reflection", runs as an open buffet and all three meals are served there, while the à la carte restaurants serve from a menu. Breakfast starts at seven in the morning and ends at eleven; lunch and dinner services run in their own time slots. Since all four à la carte restaurants open only in the evening, lunch is eaten at Reflection every day. A guest who gets hungry at midnight goes down to Bistro 24, because the venue takes its name from its opening hours and stays open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. In the evening the four à la carte restaurants come into play, and all of them work by reservation. Meyan Ocakbaşı is built on Turkish cuisine and the grill, Kaluga is devoted to seafood, Myoga offers Far Eastern cuisine, and Mia Beach Club stands at the edge of the beach. Adding up the main restaurant, the four à la carte restaurants and Bistro 24 gives six food and drink outlets; the bars are not included in that count. In a resort like this, what really matters is not the size of the buffet but how many doors are open in the evening.

Twelve Massage Rooms at Zoya Spa

The spa's full name is "Zoya Spa & Wellness", and its doors open at nine in the morning and close at eight in the evening. The hammam, jacuzzi and sauna are gathered under one roof, and twelve massage rooms and therapy rooms are on the same list. That number of rooms means not waiting in line on a busy evening, because in large resorts the massage appointment is usually the single bottleneck. The Fitness Center operates as a section separate from the spa. Since the website does not say which items are included in the stay, it is worth checking this when booking.

Alexis Kids Club runs for children between four and twelve, and alongside the daytime programme there is also an evening programme. Since a child under four can enter the club only with a parent, the youngest ones' day is left to the children's pool and the shallow sandy beach. Who the evening programme benefits is clear: the parent who wants to linger over dinner at an à la carte restaurant.

Casino Hours

The casino operates in a separate section with its own entrance. On weekdays it opens at noon and closes at six in the morning; at weekends it stays open twenty-four hours. The rule at the door, which we have mentioned in our earlier articles, is the same as across North Cyprus: those under 25 and residents of North Cyprus are strictly not admitted. This limit is not the hotel's own choice but the country's rule.

All-Inclusive, On Sale Year-Round

The hotel is sold on an all-inclusive concept; the package name appears with the "ultra" prefix on some agency pages and without it on others. Because the scope changes by season, which drinks and which restaurants are included in the package only becomes clear at the time of booking. So what happens in winter? In the Tourism Planning Department's record the property is listed among those that stay open in winter, but the beach and outdoor areas close with the cold. A guest arriving in December is left with the indoor pool, Zoya Spa, the restaurants and the casino, while the beach is clearly a summer affair. Since the winter weight in Kyrenia's beach hotels already shifts to spa and casino, the arrangement here is no surprise. On the price side there is no fixed tariff, and the figure changes with the date, room type, package and the agency you buy from. Only the hotel's and agencies' pages show the current amount for Elexus Hotel at that day's rate, so what should be compared is not the figure itself but the package name written next to it.
