Yet Les Ambassadeurs Hotel & Casino, set up in 2017 in its own bay 3 kilometres away from the chaos of Kyrenia, draws its character precisely from this disproportionate "elitism". Unlike the crowded casino hotels squeezed into the bottom of the harbour or lined up along the coast road, it isolates its guests completely on that magnificent pier.

In the Bay, Three Kilometres from Town

The address is on Evliya Çelebi Sokak, which opens onto Naci Talat Caddesi in Girne Mahallesi. Agency pages sell the property under the "Kyrenia Centre" label, yet the real distance is three kilometres and the drive to the castle takes five minutes. Those three kilometres set the daily plan, because going down to the bazaar and back calls for a car, and anyone who lingers late at the harbour cafés faces a taxi on the way back. Kyrenia's resort wings are well defined, Alsancak and Lapta to the west and Çatalköy to the east, while this hotel sits in a bay far from both. The sea lies right outside the door, and since the bay's shoreline falls within the property's boundaries, both the pier and the marina belong to the hotel itself. The road from the airport works out at roughly half an hour, though the journey can stretch when traffic builds up. The hotel does not declare a star rating, but the room tiers and prices point to a property in the upper segment. It is rare for a hotel of this scale to run its own marina, and the property's guest profile can be read from that too.

From Standard Room to Royal Suites

They divide 199 rooms into seven tiers and sell you an ornate hierarchy. This enormous seven-step spread in floor area, climbing from the 32 m² Standard Room to the 220 m² Royal Suites, is in fact a perfect illusion. Because the real luxury your wallet buys is not empty square metres but whether your face is turned towards that bay. (For most people this is the criterion that matters.)

In this 25-dönüm limbo, unrenovated since 2017, your room number is a fate. It is not only your view but also the trek you will endure to reach the pier that may need to be taken into account. At this property, caught between the bustle of the big resorts and the cramped harbour hotels, unless you firmly write "close to the sea" as a condition in your booking note, your holiday can turn into a luxurious walking trail; consider this our warning.

The Bay Beach and the Beach Club

Because the beach lies inside the bay it faces a sheltered shore rather than the open sea, and waves rarely build here. Sunbeds, cushions, umbrellas and towels are included in the stay, and those who wish can step straight into the water from the pier. The hotel does not say whether the seabed is sand or pebble, so it is worth keeping your footwear choice flexible. The pool side is called the Beach Club; the main pool is an infinity design whose edge merges with the sea line, and right beside it run a children's pool and the Beach Bar. On the same shore the marina takes one hundred and fifty yachts, and this is the element the hotel promotes most, because for those arriving on their own boat, accommodation and mooring are at a single address. On the other hand there is no indoor or heated pool, and anyone planning to swim in the cooler months should know this from the start. What really shapes the day, though, is the clock, because lunch service ends early and you have to get up from the sunbed at least once.

Where the hotel truly displays its pride is its 150-yacht marina. A flawless showground for those who say "I'll come on my own yacht and park it in my back garden."

Meals by the Clock at Louis Thirteen

At Les Ambassadeurs Hotel the package is called Full Board Plus, meaning all three meals are served in the main restaurant at set times. All three are served at "Louis Thirteen": breakfast opens at seven in the morning and closes at half past ten, lunch runs from half past twelve to half past two, and dinner from seven to half past nine. No meal outside these hours is part of the package. What time do you get up in the morning? For anyone who likes to sleep in on holiday, "half past ten" comes early, and since a missed breakfast is paid for separately, we recommend setting an alarm on the first morning. The price of this arrangement is clock discipline; its reward is that three meals are paid for up front.

The "à la carte" side stays outside this cage: there are six separate kitchens, and all six work by reservation and for a charge. Shell Wi is devoted to seafood, The Taste is about meat and steak, and Dragon gathers Far Eastern cuisine from Chinese dishes to sushi. Mangal Ocakbaşı keeps to Turkish cuisine, Balcony is set up as a Cypriot meyhane, while Royal Marina appears on the list without a cuisine label. There are two bars, the Lobby Bar and the Beach Bar, and late at night the programme moves to "News Club".

Hammam Free, Massage Charged Separately

At "Lesa Spa" the Turkish hammam, sauna and steam room are included in the stay, while massage and body treatments are paid separately. The same two-tier logic applies on the children's side, because "Lesland Mini Club" takes four- to twelve-year-olds free of charge, while the babysitting service offered for younger children is charged extra. As the club's hours change from day to day, a family that ties its daily plan to the club learns that time slot at check-in. Since the club is actively running, children's voices around the pool are normal, and a couple expecting complete silence should decide accordingly. The casino operates under the same roof but in a separate section, and by the hotel's own figure it covers four thousand square metres. Guests under 25 and residents of "North Cyprus" are not admitted to this section. We should add that this is not an adults-only hotel; it is a mixed property that runs on a family footing but houses a casino, and on this island a casino hotel usually means hosting two different kinds of guest in the same garden.

The Nightly Rate Changes on Screen

In searches for August and September 2026, the nightly starting price on agency screens appears at around twenty-one thousand lira. This is not a fixed tariff; the figure shifts as dates and room types change, so what should be compared is not the number but the date beside it. What really moves the band is the calendar, because high season begins in June and ends in September, the peak comes in July and August, and December and January are the island's quietest months. Since weekend occupancy climbs at casino hotels, weekday dates remain both calm and reasonably priced. The hotel also hosts concerts; in the first eight months of 2026 the stage never stood empty. For guests planning a winter trip the one firm date is 15 November, because the beach and pools close that day. The casino and spa do not close in the same way, so after November the emphasis shifts to the hammam and indoor areas. A guest arriving in December is greeted in the bay not by a sunbed but by the hammam and six à la carte restaurants, which is why winter at Les Ambassadeurs Hotel feels more like a city break than a seaside holiday.
